Rotary
Continuous rotary screen printing at 50-120 yards per minute, perforated cylindrical screens with internal squeegee apply colour with seamless repeat accuracy, accounting for 65% of all printed textiles globally.
Rotary Department
Rotary screen printing is the dominant method in the textile printing industry, introduced in the 1960s and now responsible for approximately 65% of all printed textiles worldwide. A perforated cylindrical screen rotates continuously while in contact with the fabric, print paste is fed into the interior and a stationary squeegee inside the screen pushes it through the design areas onto the fabric. A separate cylinder is required for each colour in the design.
Our rotary line operates at speeds of 50-120 yards per minute depending on design complexity and fabric construction. The continuous rotation allows seamless repeat prints with no gaps or overlaps. An automated colour kitchen handles precise paste formulation and dispensing, ensuring shade consistency from the first metre to the last across long production runs on bed linen, curtain fabric, and apparel textiles.
Equipment & Capabilities
The core machinery and technology powering our rotary operations.
Rotary Printing Machine
Multi-colour rotary screen press with internal squeegee, each perforated cylinder applies one colour in continuous contact with the moving fabric at up to 120 ypm.
Screen Engraving
Laser-engraved nickel rotary screens, each screen corresponds to one colour layer, with perforation precision ensuring sharp pattern reproduction.
Colour Kitchen
Automated colour dispensing and mixing system, print paste formulated with precise recipe control for consistent shade across entire production runs.
Steamer & Washer
Post-print steaming chambers for dye fixation followed by multi-stage washing to remove unfixed colour and achieve the final hand feel.
Production Process
How material moves through our rotary department, from start to finish.
Screen Preparation
Design separated into colour layers and engraved onto rotary screens.
Paste Mixing
Print paste formulated in colour kitchen with precise recipe control.
Printing
Fabric fed through rotary press with screens applying each colour in sequence.
Steaming & Washing
Printed fabric steamed for dye fixation, then washed and dried.
Inspection
Final inspection for colour accuracy, registration, and print defects.
